CPL CCW class is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. From beginner to advanced, our instructors are highly trained to bring you into the fold and convey the necessary information in an easily retained and relaxed manner.
This course Complies with Michigan Compiled Laws Section 28.425j governing training requirements for a Concealed Pistol License.
Students will be issued the certificate needed to apply for their CPL.
This course contains live fire at an indoor range. Please see registration page for more information.

Upon completion of any Phoenix Rising course, you are our student for life. You will be added into the Phoenix Fire Alumni group, receive student-only discounts on classes and products, and any future renewal class will be free of charge. We will go above and beyond to help you with whatever your carry needs are.

*Students must pay $20 cash range fee and purchase their own ammunition. Each student will need 50 rounds of ammunition for class. This may be purchased at the range the day of class or prior to class. If you are using our equipment, you will need 50 rounds of 9mm Luger FMJ.
Chief Instructor Bio:
I'm Christie Bass, owner and Chief Instructor of Phoenix Rising.
I am a wife and a mother of 3 amazing children.
I have adopted the motto of "Stand on the shoulders of giants".
Latin: nanos gigantum humeris insidentes Meaning "discovering truth by building on previous discoveries."
I, myself, am a concealed carry permit holder. Not only is firearm safety and training a strong focus of mine, I recognize the extreme value of proven situational awareness training, emergency first aid and trauma training, range safety training and more! All of the classes we have put together are taught through positive reinforcement and empowerment. We care about the whole person well-being, both physically and mentally. No harsh commands and no singling out. My goal is to connect with students and create a relaxed and fun environment, where each individual feels comfortable and excited to learn as much as possible. Student confidentiality and consent is the highest priority in my classrooms and on the range.
I believe strongly in continued education, for myself, our cadre, and our students. I enjoy earning your trust and being by your side as you navigate the endless amount of information available to help you protect yourself and loved ones from violence.
I am constantly challenging myself to learn more about the "why it's done this way", and (most importantly) how that "why" was tested an proven, when it comes to personal protection. I want to share that knowledge with you!
