This training block was created at the request of many of our students that have enjoyed the range portion of their concealed carry class and want to get together with like-minded individuals to learn a bit more in a fun environment. This short training block is limited to ten individuals.
This laid back block is for the student who has basic experience with their firearm and would like to enjoy the company of other shooters in a productive and instructor-led atmosphere.
Students in this class will have the opportunity through instruction to reinforce the Fundamentals of Marksmanship such as:
- Stance
- Grip
- Draw/Presentation
- Sight Alignment
- Sight Picture
- Breath Control
- Trigger Press
- Followthrough
Students will need:
- Firearm
- Minimum of one magazine (preferably two)
- 50 rounds of range ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
- Range bag
- Note pad and pen/pencil
- A happy, positive mindset
All participants will recieve:
- A take-home packet explaining the fundamentals
- A certificate of completion
- Extra targets
- Dry-fire exercises for at-home practice
- Continued Support from all instructors
Students who have passed the Phoenix Rising Firearm Academy "Draw From the Holster" class will be permitted, and encouraged, to draw from the holster in this class.
Holster Restrictions:
Serpa holster (any style with trigger finger release), Nylon or Cordura, Shoulder, Cross Draw, Small of the back, Pocket, Sticky, Bang Bra (woman), Inner Thigh (woman), or any holster the Instructor deems unsafe in condition, use, or firearm retention method. These will not be allowed.
Appendix carry will be allowed WITH A MOLDED KYDEX HOLSTER AND PROPER CARRY BELT. No exceptions.
Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must be legally eligible to be in the possession of a firearm under Michigan and Federal Law. Anyone 16-18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have prior authorization from the lead instructor. A CPL is not required for this class, but you MUST be legally elligible to be in the possession of a firearm.
The range does have common caliber ammunition, eyes, and ears for sale if needed. Handgun rental and range fees are included in the cost of registration.
